Arts & Crafts

Fujisengen Shrine 富士浅間神社 - local shrine a short walk away through the forest. It’s one of more than a thousand Fuji Sengen shrines across Japan, dedicated to Princess Konohanasakuya, the Shinto deity associated with Mount Fuji. A hiking trail that leads all the way to the top of Mount Tanigawa starts just behind the shrine.

Rakutentei, a two room gallery, showcasing traditional sumie ink art and art depicting kappa, Japanese water spirits. Very nice husband and wife artists. Find it on Google maps as ‘デザイン・テン’. 2-minute walk from the lodge.

Tenichi Art Museum 天一美術館 - in a striking building near the shrine, an art gallery that showcases Japanese art ( ¥1300 entry). 3-minute walk from the lodge.

Takumi no Sato たくみの里 - traditional Japanese crafts village. You can take workshops, but it is best to check the schedule before visiting to make sure the workshop that you would like to take will be available.
